About the event

Pokémon Community,

Our next show is scheduled for Sunday December 10th from 12-4pm

As always, we are still limiting the number of tables per dealer to 1 table to maximize the number of dealers who can attend. Sunday shows have overwhelmingly been the best day to hold a show due to 95% of people’s schedules.

I always ask that once you unload your vehicle that you move it down to the Train station parking lot where there is free parking on Sundays. It’s the lower lot in back of our building.

The last show was very well attended and we had a lot of new attendees probably because of advertising reaching new people.

The dealer fee per table will remain at $35 per table. ALL of the money goes into advertising. I use the money for yard signs that get posted for a week before the show at the local highway exit ramps, Facebook, local papers and google. I also spend countless hours spamming people selling Pokémon products in Marketplace, in the Poke groups and anywhere else I can squeeze in promotions. Please help directing people toward the event calendar invitation that’s going to be created and cross posted.

It seems every show there are at least 60% returning dealers and always a few new dealers. The new dealers are able to get tables because not all the dealers from previous shows are able to attend every event we host. I have noticed that many of our dealers are now setting up at national shows and I could not be happier to see our community growing! The last few shows we have at least 3 last minute cancellations. I get life happens and emergencies happen. Please let me know as soon as you know if you cant attend so we can get another dealer in your place. Space is limited and there has been a waiting list. Priority goes out to returning dealers and the dealers who consistently attend. If you don’t RSVP then someone else is going to fill the space.

Feedback from the last few shows: As a reminder, I’m asking dealers to have inventory priced out and PLEASE DO NOT put cards on your table unless they are available for sale or trade because it confuses customers and causes resentment because customers see cards they need and fall in love with them, only to find out they are just for show. It also causes delays when people are going from table to table looking for deals. Every dealer has a different inventory and comes from a different level of experience so please take the constructive criticism from a good place. I have been doing shows as a dealer since roughly 1987 when I was a kid and you get better every time you set up and take away something you can learn from with every experience. It’s been a lifelong journey of improving for me and I’m still making changes to do things better every show. IF you need a case for your products please let me know. I have a few extra kicking around for sale or for loan for the show. I’m always available to help you with any questions you have for your set up or as a dealer.

Another old reminder is that our building is not handicap friendly. This is still true and not much can be done about the stairs going downstairs where the majority of the show is held. Please feel free to add not handicap accessible/friendly if you post an advertisement so people know what to expect.

The PTU website is still promoting other TCG stores and Pokémon Shows. My business wants to promote any aspect of collecting and promoting our hobby.  We do this by having 2 different pages on the PTU web site promoting local brick and mortar stores that sell single cards. In order for me to list a store they MUST use TCG pricing or another equal fair market pricing in line with TCG. I will not endorse dealers marking up cards over standard community pricing. I have seen dealers using eBay asking price plus 20% or more. If the store is not transparent in their purchasing, then they will not be able to participate. I have people in the community providing me with feedback and experiences, and I welcome any feedback you may have. The other page I’m encouraging will list all the local Pokémon card shows in New England. I can’t list shows I don’t know about so feel free to email me with any leads on upcoming trade events or dealer shows. I will not promote commercial shows or national events at this time. That may change.

The Pokémon Club monthly meetings from 630-730pm with a trade event held after for 1 hour after have been doing well. The clubs meeting are held to high standards. The show starts with an around the room introduction of each member and a minimal introduction. We will talk about current sets, new sets coming out and any open discussions about anything. This coming month we will talk about Southern Islands cards and then Topps cards. The club is recorded and will be available for watching in the future. The first Monday of every month from 630PM to 830PM.

a constand item is always the temperature in the room downstairs is always a little warmer than anyone likes it to be. Last show was not as bad as it had been in the past.

Please edit and share the attached standard show promotions. Feel free to send me improved customized edited versions.
